Coop, Truly As Awesome As He Thought He Was

Coop has wanted to play on an organized soccer team for several years now.  We do this dance in our family called the Balancing Act.  It's getting harder and harder to dance this dance as the kids get older and have more desires to be apart of activities.
Much to Cooper's excitement we decided that he could play Upward Soccer this year.  Upward is a great program run by the local Nazarene church.  Upward is the world's largest Christian based sports program.  It focuses on developing the total athlete mentally, athletically, spiritually, and socially.   We've been so impressed with the organization and positive program this has been for Cooper.  It's not a really competitive league (though the kids are always keeping score) but each week the teams are learning a scripture verse and Christ-like attribute plus learning how to play soccer.

Coop loves EVERYTHING about this program.  Just like Alex he is so into uniforms and loves how awesome he looks in uniform.
Poor Daddy was chosen for the half-time game.  After spinning around this foam noodle and then trying to make a soccer goal he spent the rest of the afternoon feeling dizzy and nauseous.  Oh the things we do for our children!

After Coop made his first goal he broke out in full gangname style dance.  My kids were blessed with great self-esteems.  Ever since that goal I've heard parent's yell out -- "Coop, are you going to dance for us today?"

Such great sportsmanship on the team!   Go Dalmatians!!!
